Where do you see patients? Most initial evaluations will be in-person appointments, while the majority of follow-up appointments are telehealth appointments. In-person appointments are available on certain days and are conducted at a shared office space in Saint Matthews.
-
How do your telehealth visits work? You will be provided a link via email after you have completed all your pre-appointment paperwork. On the day and time of appointment, you click the link and follow directions to enter the telehealth waiting room. Please treat telemedicine appointments, the same as you would an in person appointment. Please wear appropriate clothing, and find a quiet place to sit down and have your appointment in an appropriate, private environment.
-
What age groups of patients do you see?I treat adults age 18 and over.
-
Do you accept insurance? No, we are a private pay only practice. We accept credit and debit cards. We do provide Superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement of out of network expenses. We cannot see anyone who has any type of Medicare or Medicaid plan.
-
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?Unfortunately we cannot see any patients that are participating in any type of Medicare or Medicaid plan. As Dr. McGavic is credentialed for Medicaid/Medicare as a necessity for hospital employment, we are not allowed to accept direct pay from the patient for any Medicaid/Medicare covered service, of which outpatient psychiatry is included.
-
Do you have a cancellation policy? We do. We ask that you cancel at least 48 hours prior to appointment. Anything less will be charged a Late Cancellation Fee. No Shows will also be charged a fee and if you have more than 2 No Shows, you may be subject to dismissal from the practice.
-
What is your policy on controlled substances? If warranted based on symptoms and diagnosis, we may choose to prescribe controlled substances, including stimulants for ADHD. Any patient being prescribed controlled substances must sign and abide by a controlled substance contract. This includes regular appointments and random urine drug screens as required by DEA guidelines.
