Dr. McGavic was born and raised in Louisville, KY.  He is a proud graduate of PRP with a great love and dedication to the Louisville area.  Dr. McGavic has a passion for drag racing and after his first year of college he took a break from school to pursue a great opportunity to travel with  a professional drag car race team as a member of the pit crew.  Through this experience he was able to travel the country, meet lots of wonderful people, some of whom would become lifelong friends, and learn the importance team work.  It took a team to get that engine tuned just right so the driver could make the perfect pass down the track and win the race.  He takes that same mentality with his patients' care.  He knows the value of working as a team with the patient, their family, their therapist, and their primary care doctor,  to bring  the best outcome possible.  Having a good sense of trust and faith in your psychiatrist is a very crucial piece of the puzzle when it comes to your mental health journey, and Dr. McGavic understands that.  His dedication lies with you, the patient.
